Running from 1 April until 30 September this year, the extended Awards will feature monthly awards:
• Taxi Driver of the Month – winning $100 worth of UNIGAS, a Sydway directory and $100 in cash.
• Taxi Driver of the Month Runner Up – winning $100 worth of UNIGAS and a Sydway directory.
• Radio Worker of the Month – winning $100 in cash.
• WATS Driver of the Month.
From these monthly winners, an independent judging panel will assess the 2009 Taxi Driver of the year who will get $5,000 in cash and vouchers from UNIGAS and other sponsors.
There will also be a first and second runner up in the 2009 Awards – the First Runner Up will receive $1,000 in cash and the Second Runner Up will receive $500 in cash.
The Radio Worker of the Year will receive $1,000 in cash, as will the WATS Driver of the Year.
In the country, the 2009 Awards will include a Country Taxi Driver of the Year (winning $1,500 in cash and a $500 UNIGAS voucher), a First Runner Up (receiving $750 in cash and $250 worth of UNIGAS), and a Second Runner Up (receiving $400 in cash and $100 worth of UNIGAS).

HOW DO I GET SELECTED?
Each month every urban network which is a member of the NSW Taxi Council, will nominate the Driver of the Month and the Radio Worker of the Month based customer feedback.

It’s the 2009 Awards night at the Four Seasons Hotel and there will be hundreds of representatives of the Industry and Government.
