Blackmores Sydney Running Festival
Sunday, 20 September at 4am to 1pm

There will be changed traffic conditions in Milsons Point, Sydney CBD, Millers Point, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Moore Park, Kensington, Randwick, Pyrmont, Rozelle, Lilyfield and Haberfield for the Sydney Running Festival on Sunday, 20 September 2009.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge and its approaches will be closed in both directions from 4am until 10am on Sunday, 20 September 2009.  The Sydney Harbour Tunnel will remain open during the event except to oversize and dangerous goods vehicles. All other affected roads will re-open by 1pm.

Alternate harbour crossings are the Gladesville and Anzac Bridges. 

Special event clearways will be enforced in the above suburbs from 1am to 1.30pm. Please check signage before parking as illegally parked vehicles will be towed and fines apply.

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the affected suburbs and along Parramatta Road during the event. Please delay your journey where possible or use an alternative route.

Those participating in the event are advised to use public transport to and from the race. An integrated ticket will be available for all competitors. Simply show your chest bib to travel by regular train, bus or ferry services on event day. The integrated ticket will cover Sydney Metro as well as Scone, Dungog (Newcastle), Lithgow, Goulburn, Richmond and Bomaderry (Wollongong) and in-between.

City of Sydney - Spring Cycle 2009
Sunday 27 September at 3am - 4pm

There will be road closures and special event clearways in the Sydney CBD, North Sydney, Rhodes, Meadowbank, Silverwater, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Rozelle, Haberfield, Canada Bay, Concord, and Homebush Bay on Sunday, 27 September 2009 for the City of Sydney - Spring Cycle 2009.

Three of four southbound lanes of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (lanes 6, 7 and 8) will be closed on Sunday, 27 September between 4am and 11am. Please use the Sydney Harbour Tunnel as an alternative. Lane 5 will remain open to southbound motorists and oversize and dangerous goods vehicles. 

Access to the Sydney Harbour Bridge from North Sydney and Milsons Point is available via Arthur St North and the Mount St on-ramp. Access to Warringah Freeway from Berry Street will be closed and traffic will be diverted via the Pacific Highway.

The Loop Road under Ryde Bridge at Ryde will be closed from 6am to 3pm. Detours will be in place.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution, expect delays and allow additional travel time.

Sydney 2009 World Masters Games
Saturday 10- Sunday 18 October, Sydney

More than 30,000 international competitors and visitors will be in Sydney for the World Masters Games from 10-18 October.  It’s the world’s largest multi-sport event, open to people of all abilities and most ages to compete in 28 different sports held at 72 venues across Sydney.

Taxis are expected to be in high demand, as the World Masters Games are known to attract more competitors than the Olympic Games.  Additionally, there are viewing hubs at Sydney Olympic Park, Blacktown, Penrith and Bankstown and in the CBD which are expected to attract thousands of spectators.

Many of the competitions will take place at Olympic venues, including several sites in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct that will be both the sport and social heart of the Games.

Mosman Festival
Friday 23 October - Sunday, 1 November.

The festival is to be held around in various venues in Mosman.

Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi
Sunday 1 – Sunday 15 November.

A daily installation of sculptures along the Tamarama coastal walk throughout this period. More traffic to be expected around this time.

Melbourne Cup Day
Tuesday 3 November

Melbourne Cup Day celebrations will be held at various pubs, clubs and racecourses.

Road Closures:
Mona Vale
8am to 11am - Beaconsfield Street between Kalinya Street and Barrenjoey Road (westbound).
8:30am - 8:40am - Barrenjoey Road between Park Street and Pittwater Road.

Temporary Lane Closures:
7:30am to 11am - Barrenjoey Road between Polo Avenue and Beaconsfield Street (lanes 1 & 2 northbound).
- Pittwater Road between Barrenjoey Road and Coronation Street (lane 1 southbound).

Speed restriction
A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be implemented along Pittwater Road for southbound motorists in Mona Vale and Collaroy:
Collaroy - Pittwater Road between Ocean Street and Birdwood Avenue (southbound).
Mona Vale - Pittwater Road between Barrenjoey Road and Coronation Street (southbound).

Clearways
5am to 9am - Pittwater Road between Ocean Street and Birdwood Avenue (southbound). Check signage before parking as illegally parked vehicles will be towed and fines apply.

Motorists are advised to expect minor delays and allow additional travel time. Roads will be progressively re-opened by NSW Police and RTA after cleaning.

King Georges Road, Beverly Hills

  • Bayswater Road between Kings Cross Tunnel and New Beach Roadd (northern side).
  • Bayswater Road between McLachlan Avenue and Neild Avenue (southern side).
  • College Street between Oxford Street and Prince Albert Road.
