Secure and Supervised Ranks operate in Sydney's CBD.

Secure Ranks are Ranks supervised by qualified Passenger Relations Officers and Security Personnel, that operate on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Rank locations are at the Four Seasons Hotel (George Street), Park Street (Pitt Street and Castlereagh Street) and Chifley Square (Bent Street and Hunter Street).

The Ranks operate from 10pm to midnight.

Supervised Ranks were introduced in Sydney's CBD to maximise Taxi availability during the mid-afternoon changeover period.

Their aim is to provide Passengers with locations which increase their chance of a Taxi, and for Drivers the Ranks provide them with a final journey on their way back to returning the vehicle.

Passengers attending the Rank will be asked their destination by a trained Commissionaire - who will then ask each Driver his direction and allocate cars to Passengers accordingly.

Drivers using these Ranks display Destination Signs in their front window which indicate the direction they are heading.

These signs can only be displayed at the end of a shift between the hours of 1:30am and 4:30am or 12:30pm and 4:30pm.

Rosehill Racecourse
With racing carnivals around Sydney now back underway, on the 12 and 19 April a taxi rank will be in place at Oak April a taxi rank will be in place at Oak Street, Rosehill from 3.00pm

There will be no access to Rosehill Racecourse from this time. Security will moniter the rank which has been approved by both NSW Police and Local Council.
