Restricted Plates are available from Transport NSW . An example of a Restricted Plate is a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi, or time restricted Plates.
The NSW Taxi Council provides advice on Taxi Plate purchase including the current price.
Stamp Duty of 2.6% is payable on the purchase of a Plate, and GST is also applicable on purchase.

In order to lease a Plate you must be an Accredited Operator.
To find out about opportunities call the NSW Taxi Council or look in your local newspaper.
Once a formal lease arrangement has been drawn up it must be registered and approved by the Department of Transport.
The leasee is responsible for the total operation of the Taxi including vehicle condition, industrial relations and WorkCover responsibilities. |
