Galston Road Closure
Galston Road at Galston Gorge will be closed until early August (weather permitting) in both directions between Calderwood Road, Galston and Montview Parade, Hornsby Heights.
The road closure will be in place while works are carried out to repair the damaged sandstone retaining wall supporting Galston Road, approximately 100m west of the Galston Gorge Bridge. The wall will be reinforced following a slip caused by heavy rain at the start of 2010, which subsequently cause cracks in the road.
The road must be closed to accommodate for the heavy machinery that will be used during the repairs.
The works majority of the work will coincide with the school holidays to minimise disruption to traffic in peak periods.
Alternative routes are available via:
New Line Road, Boundary Road and Pennant Hills Road.
Arcadia Road, Bay Road and Berowra Waters Road.
