Blacktown Progress Report
- BACK TO TRAFFIC & RANKS -
AUGUST 2011:  In early July, the NSW Taxi Council, taxi networks, Police, Local Government representatives and the media, met to discuss security concerns about the taxi rank adjacent to Blacktown Railway station.

Police reported that there had been 9 incidents reported over a 2 year period - and encouraged drivers to report ALL incidents so the situation could be monitored.

Blacktown City Council told the group that a $1.3m refurbishment program for the area along Flushcombe Road to WestPoint would include lighting, toilets, tree removal, shade/covered areas and CCTV.  All items included in the NSW Taxi Council's previous request will be included.
