TRAFFIC & RANKS
WestPoint Shopping Centre, Blacktown
- BACK TO TRAFFIC & RANKS -
The taxi rank on level 4 is now much safer for taxi drivers, thanks to a number of improvements which were requested by the NSW Taxi Council and Premier Cabs.

Improvements include new kerbing to allow taxis to easily exit the rank, CCTV coverage (5 cameras), new line marking, direct dial telephone for passengers, duress alarm direct to the Central Security Centre and security guard presence.

It is believed that this is the first taxi rank to include a duress alarm for taxi drivers.

Signage has been installed inside WestPoint to direct passengers to the rank and all retailers have been notified.

Taxi drivers are encouraged to use the improved facility and also requested to refrain from blocking the intersection at the Blacktown Railway Station rank.

The NSW Taxi Council would like to thank Premier Cabs for their valuable assistance on this project.
