Over 2800 Applications Have Been Submitted and Social Security Exemption Received

The applications for Financial assistance for Taxi Licence Owners in NSW are well underway.

Following a meeting we had with Transport for NSW, it was pleasing to hear that over 2,800 applications have been submitted - an additional 400 applications submitted since last week.

If you haven't started your application, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.

Social Security Exemption Received

We welcome the confirmation that the NSW Taxi Licence Transitional Assistance Payments to Taxi Licence Owners is an exempt lump sum under the Social Security Law and will not count under the income test, as per the Social Security (Exempt Lump Sum - NSW Taxi Licence Deregulation) Determination 2023, issued by the Department of Social Services.

Tax Exemption Being Processed

Please note, the Tax exemption application submitted by Transport for NSW to the ATO is still being processed. We hope to have more information shortly.
