TAXICARE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TAXI (WAT) SERVICES DRIVER TRAINING
The TAXICARE Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Service Driver Training Program is designed for people who want to train as a Driver of Wheelchair Accessible Taxis in NSW. WATS Passengers rely on WAT Drivers to provide safe and reliable transport services. For many WAT passengers Taxis may be the only transport option. The Job of driving a WAT can be very rewarding.

The program aims to develop competency for Drivers to transport passengers with a disability in Wheelchair Accessible Taxis in NSW.

The Training consists of five modules of learning and a practical (operation of vehicle equipment; simulation interaction with a person using a wheelchair). The program includes written assessments required to be completed by the participants.
The five modules in the program include:

Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Driving
Wheelchair Accessible Taxi & Equipment
Radio Booking Procedures
Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme
Customer Service

On completion of the program, including the successful evidence of competency for both theory and practical assessments, Certificates are issued to Drivers for the Taxicare Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Service Driver Training Program.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BECOME A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TAXI DRIVER?
1). A NSW Drivers Licence (image required)

2). Taxi Driver Authority / ID Card (image required)
3). A letter from your Taxi Network confirming you have completed 48 shifts providing a Taxi Service (image required)
​
4). Complete the application form, and upload documents (see section "Apply Now to Become a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Driver in NSW")
​
5). Read and accept/agree with the Fitness Declaration & Operations terms and conditions
​
6). Submit the Online Form and Documents. We will verify your details and send you a Credit Card Authorisation Form to make the payment.
