The NSW Taxi Council has received an update from the Point to Point Transport Commissioner on wearing face masks in Taxis and other point to point transport vehicles.

The Public Health Order related to mask wearing has been amended. What this means now for Taxi and other point to point drivers in Greater Sydney (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains) is:

When in service:

  • Drivers must continue to wear a mask when carrying passengers or interacting with passengers.

  • Passengers must also continue to wear a mask .

  • Drivers now no longer have to wear a mask when they have no direct contact with members of the public.

When not in service:

  • Drivers don't have to wear a mask because of the changes to the public health order.
