The NSW Taxi Council has partnered with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) for Sydney Sick Kids Appeal 2026.
Together, the NSW taxi industry is stepping up to support Sydney Sick Kids Appeal with a friendly fundraising drive. This is a great opportunity for NSW Cabbies to unite and get behind a great cause, helping sick kids.
Sydney Sick Kids Appeal kicks off on Sunday 3 May and will run through to 30 June 2026.
During this time, passengers will have the opportunity to donate by scanning a QR code inside participating Taxis right across NSW. This includes Taxis in Regional NSW, where SCHF plays a vital role in supporting sick kids and their families living in Country NSW.
Whether it’s funding new equipment, specialist training, ground-breaking research or building state- of-the-art facilities, the money raised through SCHF is changing the future for sick kids.
Sydney Sick Kids Appeal also includes Sydney Sick Kids Day, held on 3 June 2026 - a dedicated day of generosity that brings community and organisations together to raise vital funds to support sick kids and their families.
NSW Taxi Council CEO, Nick Abrahim said:
“The NSW Taxi Council is extremely proud and excited to have partnered with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, working together towards a great cause in helping sick kids. The NSW Taxi Industry has always had a long-standing history of supporting local communities, and this is just another example of the Industry coming together to raise important funds, whilst having some friendly rivalry across the Taxi sector in NSW.
We are urging as many passengers possible to show their support by scanning the QR code inside participating Taxis and making a donation. Every little bit helps.”
Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation CEO, Kristina Keneally AO said:
"Every day, taxi drivers keep our communities moving - taking people to appointments, work, school and home. They are woven into daily life across NSW in a way few industries can claim.
"When an entire industry comes together to support sick kids and the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network in the way the NSW taxi industry is, it creates real change. It strengthens our health system, accelerates research and gives families hope when they need it most. We're deeply grateful to the
NSW Taxi Council and every participating company, driver and passenger for helping us change the future for sick kids."
Business Sydney Executive Director, Paul Nicolaou said:
“It is brilliant to see two great organisations join forces to improve life for sick children in our wonderful city. There is no more important work than this.
We are calling on all of Sydney and greater NSW to show their support and get behind this great cause.”
Every day, taxi drivers help keep NSW moving. Now, those same journeys can change the future for sick kids. Because when an entire industry gets behind a cause, the impact can be extraordinary.
