NSW Taxi Council Joins Business Sydney for Event with the NSW Minister for Small Business

NSW Taxi Council CEO Nick Abrahim attended the official launch of NSW Small Business Month 2026, hosted by Business Sydney, Business NSW, and the NSW Small Business Commission.

The event featured keynote addresses from The Hon. Janelle Saffin MP, Minister for Small Business, and Kalina Koloff, NSW Small Business Commissioner, followed by a panel discussion with leaders from Government and Private sector. The Commissioner also unveiled the latest Small Business Insights Paper, showcasing the diversity and dynamism of NSW’s more than 893,000 small businesses.

During the Panel session, Paul Nicolaou, Executive Director at Business Sydney raised the issue of CTP costs for Taxis and the impact this is having on thousands of Taxi Businesses across NSW. Paul also put a question to the Minister, asking her, "what will she do to help solve this issue."

Minister Saffin acknowledged the seriousness of this issue being faced by Taxi Operators and committed her support to help advocate with her Parliamentary colleagues to help fix the issue.This launch brought together business leaders, government representatives, and the small business community to celebrate and support the vital role small businesses play as the face and engine room of the NSW economy.
