NSW Taxi Council Welcomes Further Enhancements to TTSS Payments for Taxi Drivers and Operators in NSW

Changes to Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Driver Incentive Scheme (WATDIS) payments for eligible Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme (TTSS) Wheelchair trips took effect on 14 September 2026.

What changed?

From Monday, 14 September 2026:

• New operator payments of $12 per trip (excluding GST) replaced the WAT Operational Support Grant program.

• WATDIS payment rates were increased.

• a new flat weekend rate was introduced.

• day and night periods on weekdays were updated.

The new payment rates are outlined below.

How payments will be displayed

When reconciling payments, please note:​

• TTSS Smartcard trips will appear in the Transport Concession system as a single bundled payment (shown in the table above)

• Paper docket trips will appear in the Taxi Portal, with the WATDIS and operator payments shown separately.
