The NSW Taxi Council is pleased to launch a new relationship to support Taxi networks and operators – ‘Taxi Fuels’ with Mobil Oil Australia.

The initiative leverages the NSW Taxi Council’s role as the recognised peak organisation for the NSW Taxi industry and a major contributor to the NSW public transport system, and Mobil’s reputation for reliably delivering quality fuels to Australian drivers, from the city to the country, since 1895.

The Taxi Fuels offer will provide participants with the opportunity to access high quality Mobil fuels, which will deliver significant benefits to the NSW Taxi industry, that has more than 200 authorised Taxi networks, over 5,000 Taxi operators and more than 30,000 authorised drivers.

“Joining with Mobil Australia to deliver quality fuels for our NSW Taxi operators will allow our members to maximise their vehicle operating efficiencies, thanks to Mobil quality fuels,” said Greg Kay, NSW Taxi Council Head of Partnerships.

“We hope this will help our members to achieve significant savings on one of their major operating costs, supporting them to improve their business profitability.”

“We’re looking forward to supporting NSW Taxi operators and providing opportunities to save on fuel and better manage their vehicle fleets. We know that Australia’s cities and regions are terrific places to visit, and with Mobil-branded service stations opening regularly across NSW there’s plenty of opportunity to fuel with Mobil”, said Charles Ewart, from Mobil Oil Australia.

“Enriched with a high-quality additive package, Mobil quality fuels protect against rust corrosion, remove harmful engine deposits and improve fuel economy whilst protecting your vehicles engine from the first fill.”

Mobil will become a key part of the NSW Taxi Industry ecosystem and the collaboration demonstrates both Mobil and the NSW Taxi Council are well placed to meet the needs of the NSW transport market now, and into the future.

Mobil Cards can be used at participating Mobil branded service stations and commencing in November 2021 at all 7-Eleven service stations nationwide.

About the NSW Taxi Council

The NSW Taxi Council is the peak body for the NSW Taxi Industry. It represents Taxi networks, owners and operators, and it also advocates for better outcomes for NSW Taxi drivers. Therefore, the industry is the livelihood of over 40,000 people and their families. The NSW Taxi Council represents members across Metropolitan Sydney, as well as Country and Regional NSW. The NSW Taxi Industry is a major contributor to the state’s public transport system. It delivers over 130 million passenger journeys each year and it meets customer travel needs right across NSW. It functions as a door through door transport service that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

The NSW Taxi Industry also provides services at times when other forms of public transport either significantly reduce service levels or cease operations altogether. Taxis are often the only form of public transport for some members of the community, and they provide essential transport services to some of the most disadvantaged people in the state. The NSW Taxi Industry was the first private transport provider to offer transport services for passengers travelling in a wheelchair. In fact, our history goes as far back as 1980 when the first Wheelchair Accessible Taxi was established.
