The NSW Taxi Council has been working with key stakeholders from the Office of the 24 Hour Economy Commissioner, City of Sydney, Transport for NSW, Point to Point Transport Commission and the NSW Police on establishing a new Taxi rank on Clarence Street, Sydney CBD.
The new Taxi Rank has been established as part of the “YCK Purple Flag” pilot (York, Clarence and Kent Streets) – the first of its kind in Australia, promoting a safe and vibrant precinct for people to go out and have a good night out.
The new Secure Taxi Rank will be operating from this Friday 26 May 2023. Operating Hours during Vivid Sydney 2023 will be from Midnight to 5am. After Vivid Sydney 2023 is complete, (from 17 June) the hours of operation for the rank will be 10pm to 6am.
