Ben Fordham Live listeners have been stung by cab drivers who refuse to turn on the meter and demand a set fare instead.

The Taxi Fare Feedback Line is 1800 500 410

Point to Point Transport Commissioner Anthony Wing told Ben Fordham the hotline is specific to fare issues.

“I wanted a hotline up and running before Christmas.”

Before a couple of weeks, the issue was raised on 2GB Radio where Ben Fordham pushed for a hotline to dob in “thuggish behaviour” from taxi drivers.

Ben Fordham Live listeners, including beloved TV identity Scotty Cam, had hit out at cab drivers who refuse to turn on the meter and demand a set fare instead.

NSW Taxi Council CEO Martin Rogers told Ben Fordham a meeting will be held with the regulator and commissioner to “stamp out” the practice.

“Drivers in the industry are being tarnished by this.

“There’s no negotiation, it’s by the meter.”
