The NSW Taxi Council is amplifying its campaign to make the CTP system fair for Taxi Operators.
We’ve taken our advocacy direct to the NSW Government in a meeting with Minister Jihad Dib.
We’ve made it very clear that having two sets of rules applying to businesses doing the same thing is untenable.
How is it fair for Taxi Operators to be paying around $4,900 in Regional NSW or $6,000 Metro for CTP while rideshare operators pay just $500 to $700 (the same as private vehicles)?
We are now approaching 10 years since Rideshare Services, including Uber and Didi were legalised in NSW but it has left us with a CTP scheme that is, quite frankly, just unfair.
This is untenable and urgent intervention is required to achieve a system that is fair and equitable for all players.
We will be reaching out to Industry Stakeholders for support to knock on the doors of their Local MP’s right across NSW to rally their support to fix these issues.
With an estimated 30 million trips a year delivered in Taxis, that equates to 30 million conversations. This is a story that needs to be told.
We appreciate the support of Minister Dib and his team, including representatives from SIRA in working with Industry towards addressing these inequities.
We will be in touch with further details regarding Industry Support around this matter.
